Description
Ravendale® Blue/Grey slate is quarried using very simple extraction techniques, from the finest slate beds in the Paraopeba Valley near Papagaios in Brazil. Ravendale® Blue/Grey slate is a natural sedimentary stone with excellent consistency which required the minimum of grading. The natural slates are hand split by experienced craftsmen to produce consistent slates in thickness and texture.
The Blue/Grey colour of the slate is a very good alternative to the much higher specification Burlington and Welsh slate options.
The Brazilian slate industry has become one of the major supply sources of natural roofing slate, with Ravendale® Blue Grey being produced by a well regarded and internationally backed quarry and production facilities where quality of the finished product and the level of service provided count as the principles of owners.
We produce the slate in a wide variety of sizes, including Fixed Length x Random Widths and also a Diminishing Courses x Random Widths option. The thickness spec is only 9-11 mm to guarantee the best possible quality of slate. Our Ravendale® slate is only produced from a very specific area of the quarry to give us complete confidence in its quality. We only source from that one quarry and that enables us to have complete visibility of the supply chain and the quality control during manufacture.
Fully Tested to BSEN12326-1:2004, attaining A1, T1 & S1 certification.
