Our Lakeland Green Decorative slate chippings are ideal for an extensive range of domestic landscaping projects, as well as commercial developments. This stunning green slate is quarried in the heart of the English Lake District, a pale green with tones of grey running through makes a lovely subtle backdrop to plant or garden features.
These oversized aggregates add a really big texture to any area and especially look good when used in and around any water based projects. They will also cover ground well and are very noticeable when laid in and around planting schemes. As these aggregates tend not to lie as flat, they are not ideal for walking on. For maximum effect they are best laid fairly deep, the actual size ranges between 55-150mm.
Please remember that this is a naturally quarried product and that our bagging process will result in the aggregate being covered in dust, this may result in the initial appearance being different to product images BUT don’t panic this can be easily removed by using a hose or by simply allowing natural rainfall to do this once the product is laid.
To estimate how much you require we work on a very basic calculation – 1mtr3 (cubic metre) = 1.7 tonne.
For example – 6mtr long x 5mtr wide at 75mm (0.075mtr) deep = 2.25mtr3 = 3.825 tonne (3825kg)
Each bag is approx 850kg, therefore you will need 5 bags
All our deliveries are made on a tail lift vehicle with a pump truck to the nearest point of access – the driver requires a flat paved area to offload – concrete, tarmac, block paving etc etc. We cannot offload onto gravel, grass or hardcore. We can also offer Bulk Tipped loads.
