Description
Our Lakeland Blue Grey Slate Aggregates are ideal for an extensive range of domestic landscaping projects, as well as commercial developments. This beautiful mid blue slate is quarried on the edge of the English Lake District. The 20mm size is mainly used for pathways and driveways as it is flatter than the 40mm so it is easier to walk and drive on. For a more textured finish try the 40mm Lakeland Blue Grey. The smaller 10mm size is ideal for paths, ground cover and borders due to its small size and it will provide a compacted finish if required. We do not recommended for this size of blue slate aggregate for driveways, as it is not be stable under the pressure of driving over it and can be carried in the tyre tread.
Please remember that this is a naturally quarried product and that our bagging process will result in the aggregate being covered in dust, this may result in the initial appearance being different to product images BUT don’t panic this can be easily removed by using a hose or by simply allowing natural rainfall to do this once the product is laid.
To estimate how much you require we work on a very basic calculation – 1mtr3 (cubic metre) = 1.7 tonne.
For example – 6mtr long x 5mtr wide at 75mm (0.075mtr) deep = 2.25mtr3 = 3.825 tonne (3825kg)
Each bag is approx 850kg, therefore you will need 5 bags
All our deliveries are made on a tail lift vehicle with a pump truck to the nearest point of access – the driver requires a flat paved area to offload – concrete, tarmac, block paving etc etc. We cannot offload onto gravel, grass or hardcore. We can also offer Bulk Tipped loads.
